This is one of a series of lessons designed for AQA GCSE Hinduism, though it is also suitable for KS3 students studying Hindu festivals.
The download contains two lesson options:
1) A video and documentary based approach based around a (rather beautiful, if I do say so myself) A3 Worksheet. [Includes PPT, Worksheet and Lesson Plan]
2) An ICT Suite 'Research, Present & Quiz' approach, which includes integrated peer-assessment. [Includes PPT and Worksheet, Lesson Plan not necessary as it's such a straightforward approach].
The focus of this lesson is the Hindu festival specified in the title, similar lessons can be downloaded for different Hindu festivals.
This is the eighteenth in a series of lessons on Hinduism for GCSE level students for the 'Beliefs, Teachings & Practices' section of the course. It coverers 3 Hindu festivals:
-Maha Shivaratri
-Ganesh Chaturthi
-Raksha Bandhan
It is designed for AQA and OCR specifications but relevant to all GCSE Hinduism Religious Studies teachers .

Each festival can be taught using different approaches:

This bundle contains the complete set of 10 video learning sessions for KS3 Buddhism.
The bundle contains 6 video-learning worksheets that teachers can choose from, lesson plans (and cover lesson plans) and links to videos for a host of topics for KS3 Buddhism.
These sessions are ideal for cover-lessons as they can be led by non-specialist teachers: all you need to do is print out one of the worksheet and run the PowerPoint show, selecting from a choice of videos and AfL tasks.
